“Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome”

Also known as Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome, nerve pressure can cause significant pain to the foot, ankle and lower leg. It is caused by an entrapment of the nerve as it enters the foot.

Signs and Symptoms

 
  • Pain

  • Numbness

  • Burning

  • Electrical sensations

  • Aggravated by walking or exercise

Diagnosis and Treatment

 

Treatments may include anti-inflammatories, ice, physical therapy, orthotics, steroid injections, immobilization and surgery.
